Cyberthreats, terrorist attacks, and analysis of risks and crime, accident, and disaster scenes have recently contributed to make "security" a major global concern, with the objective of preventing or better apprehending new threats and risks.
Today, it is essential to work out new practices to face up to complex and unexpected situations, taking into account the cross-sectional nature of the approach that requires on the one hand collaboration between the academic, industrial, legal, and police sectors, and on the other hand decompartmentalization of the different fields of expertise.
With support from key local social stakeholders (SAGEM-SAFRAN, ATOS, CERBA, Mérieux Nutriscience, Véolia, etc.), the Judicial Center of the Gendarmerie Nationale (the biggest forensics center in France and one of the largest in Europe), IEP's Observatory for Sociopolitical Developments, UCP's law laboratories, the social science, economics and management, and experimental sciences laboratories of Paris Seine University, it is now possible to develop top-level basic and applied scientific research in the field of "security".
Throughout 2018, conferences will address the various aspects of this theme.
